"Imagine a Purple Penguin..."

At a time when PowerPoint so effectively stunts our ability to engage with new material, we swing the pendulum back into analog through an interactive approach to leadership that empowers individuals and teams to embrace risk taking while solving the thorniest of shared problems. This memorable and engaging presentation imparts critical leadership content to kicstart creative thought and motivate momentum.
Military Leadership Philosophies.
Imagination, Creativity, Innovation.
Power of Play.
Unusual Inputs vs. Institutional Hierarchies.
How do great leaders consistently generate ideas, solve unexpected problems, and inspire action in others, especially when there isn't a handbook for the situation?

The Unexpected Venn is an engaging and interactive leadership session that explores how creativity can be intentionally developed as a professional skill rather than left to chance. Drawing from nearly two decades of military leadership experience and personal creativity practice, while also incorporating insights from more than two dozen foundational texts on creativity and leadership, Dr. Leigh Lafosse presents a practical framework for expanding creative capacity and strengthening leadership effectiveness.

Built around the principles of Imagitivitation (the intentional practice of turning imagination into action), Play, and Unusual Inputs, this presentation demonstrates how intentionally cultivating curiosity and creative thinking increases adaptability, confidence, and willingness to take meaningful action. Participants will leave with immediately applicable strategies to foster innovation within ensembles, classrooms, organizations, and their own leadership practice and will discover practical tools to generate momentum, embrace calculated risk, and inspire creative growth in those they lead.
